J.Crew return policy
Below are the policies for J.Crew merch only. Orders sold and shipped by J.Crew Marketplace may have different return windows and procedures.
Extended holiday returns
Orders placed from November 1, 2023 to December 9, 2023 can be returned until January 9, 2024.
Timing: 30 days
You must return your online and in-store purchases to J.Crew within 30 days of the purchase date to be eligible for a refund.
Note that if you mail in a return, J.Crew must receive the merchandise and process your return within that 30-day window. Processing can take up to three weeks — so plan on mailing that return back within a week of the purchase date.
Products you can and can’t return to J.Crew
Your merchandise must be unused, unworn, unwashed, and undamaged. You can also return defective merchandise.
Monogrammed, personalized, lingerie, vintage, altered or final sale items are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
If you bought something from a marketplace vendor, the merchandise must be returned directly to that vendor. You should have return instructions in the paperwork that came with your order.
Return shipping fee: $7.50
If you use J.Crew’s return shipping label, your refund will include a deduction of $7.50 for return shipping.
You can bypass the return shipping fee by taking your purchase into a store. In-store, online, and phone purchases can all be returned in J.Crew stores. Note that J.Crew stores only accept J.Crew returns — not J.Crew Factory merchandise.
Refunds
Returns are refunded to the original form of payment if you make the 30-day window and provide proof of purchase.
Exchanges
J.Crew doesn’t offer exchanges per se. You can return the unwanted merchandise and separately buy the item you want.
Returns without a receipt
J.Crew’s policy is that all returns or exchange requests in-store must be accompanied by the receipt, especially if you paid cash. So you can try to get store credit for a return without a receipt, but you not get anywhere.
Gift returns
Gift returns accompanied by a gift receipt. These are refunded to a J.Crew gift card.
