Modcloth return policy
Let me guess — you bought one of those adorable retro dresses at Modcloth and then changed your mind? It’s OK. Happens to the best of us.
What you need now is an easy how-to on the Modcloth return policy.
Timing on Modcloth returns
Modcloth has to receive the unwanted piece within 28 days of the shipped date. (If you live outside the U.S., your timeline is 60 days from the shipped date.)
Eligibility
You can’t return (or exchange) final sale items. You also can’t return pieces you’ve worn, washed, or damaged in some way.
Shipping
If you live in the continental U.S., Modcloth will provide a return shipping label. If you live in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, or anywhere outside the U.S., you must arrange your own shipping.
Even if you use Modcloth’s return label, you are responsible for shipping. You also get no refund on any shipping charges you have already incurred. Your refund will be reduced appropriately.
As of December, 2023, Modcloth deducts $5 from your refund for shipped returns using their label. You can also ship returns back at your own expense.
Alternatively, you can bring your returns in-person to a return bar location. Use this option and Modcloth charges you $3.89 per item as a processing fee. The plus side is you don’t have to print or package anything.
Refunds
Modcloth’s return policy allows for refunds, made to your original form of payment. It will take two weeks or more from the date your return is received by Modcloth to refund you.

Modcloth return policy: Next steps
If you live in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or any location outside the U.S., you cannot use Modcloth’s return shipping label. You’ll have to provide your own shipping — see the address below.
If you live in the continental U.S., visit this page and follow the prompts to start your Modcloth return.
- You will provide your email address or phone number plus your order number or return number.
- Once you locate your order, you’ll select the items you want to send back along with the reason for the return.
- You’ll then print your label and return authorization.
- From there, pack up your unwanted items along with the return authorization. You can drop the item off at a Fedex location.
