Dillard’s Return Policy: What You Need to Know

Dillard’s return policy

  • Timing: 30 days from purchase date
  • Return shipping charge: $9.95. You can return items purchased online or in-store for free to a Dillard’s store.
  • Refunds for mailed returns: Shipping and handling is not refundable, refunds credited to original form of payment seven to 10 days after shipment. You can alternatively request a refund to a Dillard’s gift card.
  • Gift returns: Refunded to a gift card.
  • Products not eligible for returns: Clearance merch marked down 65% or more, merch on sale with an additional discount, personalized merchandise, merchandise that’s been used or worn, merchandise with tags removed.

Dillard’s return policy is fairly restrictive — definitely something to know if you plan to shop Dillard’s. The highlights are that you need to make the return within 30 days of purchase and you must have a receipt. If you return an online order, you can pay for the return shipping yourself or use Dillard’s shipping label for $9.95, which is deducted from your refund.

Returning items purchased in-store

Items purchased in-store that are eligible for return must be returned to the store. Please see the section below titled, “What can’t I return?” for a list of products that aren’t eligible for returns.

Timing: You can return an item you purchased in a Dillard’s store within 30 days of the original purchase date. Defective products are not subject to the 30-day timeframe.

Condition: The item must be unworn and unwashed, with tags still attached. Shoes must be returned in their original box.

Documentation: You have to bring the original purchase receipt with you to be eligible for a refund.

Method: You will be refunded to the original form of payment. If you paid with a check, there is a 10-day waiting period before you can receive a cash or check refund. You also have the option to be refunded with merchandise credit.

Dillard’s accepts returns of online orders by mail, but you pay for the return shipping. Please see the section below titled, “What items can’t be returned?” for a list of products that aren’t eligible for returns.

Shipping Fees: You can use a Dillard’s return label, which will cost you $9.95. Or you can take the item to the post office or another delivery service and pay for that on your own. If you do your own shipping, make sure you use a service that’s trackable. The mailing address can be found here .

How do I print a Dillard’s return label?

Dillard’s doesn’t pay return shipping fees, but they do offer a service to print labels. It’s not free, of course. You’ll pay $9.95. The advantage of using their label is that your return is trackable. . You’ll need your order number.

  1. i bought a pair of sperrys, for my grand daughter for christmas. the seams on top comimg apart. i cant find receit. i used my card master will that work or what can i do?

  3. Wondering if Dillards would return boots if one boot was hurting your foot? They fit but every time I have worn them the night and day after my foot gets swollen on the side where your arches are located. Its just the one foot too. I know itsthe boot. Would Dillards return this item even after wearing them a few times?

      Log in to your account on Dillards.com and click on Check Order Status at the bottom of the page. You should be able to print a return label from there. You will be responsible for the postage, though.
