Yea or Nay: Disney Couture - Alice in Wonderland Bangle Bracelet, $150.00 at thinkher.com

ChanelGivenchyDiorDisney?

Disney is jumping on the high-end fashion bandwagon with it’s Disney Couture line.  The collection features high-priced clothing and accessories, like the Alice in Wonderland inspired bracelet shown above. Now, I like the bracelet, but Mickey and gang must have been smoking something on Space Mountain to think that anyone would pay $150 for the bracelet shown above.  Yes, Eva Longoria wore it in that Jessica Simpson roller skating video, but I highly doubt she would even pay $150 bucks for the resin and gold plated bracelet.  What do you think? Should Disney even have a couture line? What’s next?? McDonald’s serving gourmet food?

It’s very pretty, and I really like it, but .. no, not $150. Maybe .. $15.

Definitely NAY!

I like Disney, I even think the bracelet is adorable, but not for 150 dollars.

I think its a cool and original idea… But I don’t think Eva Longoria probably paid for it. Probably came in some sort of swag bag. I don’t think that I would buy Disney Couture if I could afford real high end designers. Even if I was a kid of a rich parent.

Nay, no way I’m paying 150.00 for that!

yea, I read somewhere that Quincy Jones’ daughter was designing this. Disney and couture seem like an oxymoron to me.

The bracelet is cute, it is definetely a little pricey but if it were on sale for half price, I would purchase it.

This is crazy. Does the words Disney and Couture even go together?  Lets keep Disney for the kids only.  And it wasnt that cute in the Jessica Simpson video anyways.

I’m all for companies trying to expand their marketshare like petites, plus sizes, couture, etc.  But $150 for resin and gold plated - YIKES!!  And it’s not even bling-fabulous.  Maybe Disney should concentrate more on putting out better quality children’s films and less time on high end fashion.

Well the bracelet is cute and everything, but I really don’t think that Disney can go couture.  They are also planning to do home furnishings soft lines (pillows, lamps, etc) and I don’t think I would spend that much money on those things either!  If I want to wear Disney jewlery, I will steal it from my little sister!!

I live near Disneyland and they have an entire store of their couture line at Downtown Disney and the stuff isn’t that cute, its overpriced and it didn’t look like it was very good quality either, so nay nay nay!  There’s cuter stuffa t the normal Disney store, its expensive but not that much!

yeah that is really stupid. i mean, you could get something way nicer for 150!! i don’t even like the bracelet. i just don’t get it.

Think I saw some Disney Judith Lieber bags at Saks yesterday.  They had Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and the Cheshire Cat (and a couple others I don’t remember).  I thought, “who buys Judith Leiber for little girls?!?!”

I’m not even sure I’ll pay 20 bucks for that! I do like the bangle, but I know I can find similar item with MUCH lower price.

I say nay to the high-end Disney Jewelry. I don’t understand who this is supposed to appeal to?

March 6, 2007 Anne wrote:

Nay!  I wouldn’t pay $1.50 for it.  Disney should concentrate on producing movies, not wanna-be-fine jewelry.

i wanted to see what the fuss was about, so i checked out the “couture” line on disneyshopping.com
all i have to say is that who are they kidding? the idea is cute but really who is crazy enough to shell out $200-$300 bucks for kiddie jewlery? I can’t lie there were some things that i liked, such as the Pirates of the Caribbean Silver Sword Clasp Necklace, but at $125 i’ll wait till it goes on sale ( as some of the other stuff on the site is already reduced )

It’s a nay. It’s cute, but the materials look cheap, like the stuff that they make for kids.
