Everyone knows that metallic is so very in this summer, and, well, going to the beach is always a big do. But putting them together—with “beach glamâ€? being touted as the latest trend for sand and surf—is where it gets tricky. Ummm, let’s just get one thing straight—you won’t see slogging through the sand decked out in metallic wedges, giant gold hoop earrings, and a bronze arm cuff. We have our limits. There is room, however, for a bit of bling at the beach. Some glitter and glitz we could manage at the shore, for less (our advice? Pick one great bit of bling to go with the basics you’ve already got to be on-trend and stay on budget):
Sequin Weave Tote Bag, $39.80, Forever21.com
Bronze Bandeau Bikini Top and Bottom, on sale $12.50 each, Old Navy
Women’s Xhilaration Gemma Flip Flops, fuschia, $12.99

I really love that woven gold bag, it’s metallic without being BLINGY, and still looks natural. I’m heading on a cruise tomorrow and my nod to metallics will be a pair of hammered gold cuffs, one on each arm- I love the Grecian Goddess look!
Bling looks good at the beach, but if you headed to a mountain lake, avoid the extra shine or you’ll look a little out of your element.
