eBay has launched eBay Authenticate™, a white glove authentication service designed to help the marketplace’s hundreds of millions of active buyers shop with confidence for luxury handbags.
eBay sellers can now utilize the service to list luxury handbags and wallets valued at $500+ and receive 80% of the final selling price when selling luxury handbags from 12 high-end brands, including Balenciaga, Burberry, Céline, Chanel, Christian Dior, Fendi, Goyard, Gucci, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Valentino. For a limited time, the service will accept luxury handbags valued at $250+ and sellers will receive 90% of the final sale price.
For eBay buyers, they can shop more confidently for luxury handbags knowing that items marked with an “Authenticity Verified” label are backed by a 200 percent Money Back Guarantee.
Sellers have to send their bags to eBay for verification. eBay’s industry experts then photograph, list and sell the bag. Once the bag sells, the seller gets 80% of the purchase price. For a limited time, sellers will get 90% of the purchase price.

My Take
I like that eBay is making a move to combat the sale of fake bags. I just wish it didn’t have to cost the sellers 20%. Ultimately, it means you’ll end up paying 20% more for that used bag on eBay. At that point, you may as well just go find a new designer bag on sale in a retail store for about the same price.

Hi, I don't think to have the authenticity of genuine bag to be validated. there are many brands which people know about the genuineness of the bags.
