What: You know bikini season isn’t far behind when people start talking about bronzer.
The Word: According to the March 2008 issue of Elle magazine, the models for the J. Mendel, Versace, Alexander Wang and Salvatore Ferragamo spring shows were reminiscent of shimmering bronzed statues: “Gorgeous and glamorous,� is how makeup artist Charlotte Tillbury, who created a bronzed eye for J. Mendel, describes the look. “It makes every eye color glow.�
Our Word: When in doubt as to what color eye shadow to swipe on, bronzey shades are always a safe bet. Every makeup drawer should have at least a couple safety shadows in its midst. Revlon Diamond Lust Sheer Shadow in Bedroom Bronze and Grab Me Gold, each $12.99, are good go-tos. Don’t believe us? Just brush on some warm copper and gold tones on your lids and see how the rest of your face lights up.

YES!!! Finally this trend is recognized here. I’ve been using bronze shimmer shadows for a while now. It’s sophisticated, can be modified for day or night, and in general just make my eyes look pretty without being too out there and obvious.
